Obituary

Otto Carl Fischer, age 100, passed away November 9, 2019 at Bob Wilson Memorial Centura Hospital in Ulysses, KS.

He was born December 24, 1918 in Las Vegas, New Mexico, the only child of Reinhold August and Bertha Lizzie (Lohmeier) Fischer. He moved to Perth, KS, in 1933 and then to Wichita in 1940.

He is survived by his wife Norma Mae (Wagner) Fischer. They were married in 1945 and recently celebrated 74 years of marriage. They moved to Ulysses in 2013 and resided at Park View Assisted Living and the Legacy. Other survivors include three cousins, nieces Beverly Haines and Barbara Troutman, and nephew Jim Newell and his wife Donna, and numerous great nieces and nephews.

He was a charter member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Wellington, KS.

Otto worked at Koch Industries for 38 years as a manager, making and repairing parts for oil refineries. In younger years, he was an avid bowler and on a team for Koch Industries. He also liked to play baseball.

Otto and Norma enjoyed watching baseball games at Lawrence Dumont Stadium and traveling. They traveled around the United States and Canada into Alaska, Nova Scotia and Panama.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at Calvary Lutheran Church in Wellington, KS. Pastor William Wingfield will officiate. Graveside Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Wichita, KS.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church in Wellington, KS.
