Maxiene was born on May 4, 1921 in rural South Haven, KS to Elgin Martin and Mary (Case) Martin. She was raised in the South Haven area and graduated from South Haven High School.

She married Vincent H. Erwin on May 3, 1942 in Conway Springs, KS. He preceded her in death in 1996.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vincent; two brothers, Lloyd and Elburn ; and one sister, Ila.

Survivors include her two sons, Phil Erwin and his wife Glenda of Wellington and Rick Erwin and his wife Kathy of Yukon, OK; four grandchildren, Jennifer Sanders and her husband Wes, Rance Erwin and his wife Laura, Kyle Erwin, and Travis Erwin; eight great grandchildren, Jay Sanders, Kylee Sanders, Cole Erwin, Claire Erwin, Anna Gonzales, Emma Erwin, Joseph Erwin, and Martin Erwin.

Graveside Services will be held at Sumner Memorial Gardens on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor James Byers of the First Christian Church will officiate.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial has been established with the First Christian Church in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
