Obituary

Ramona K. Geubelle Favinger passed February 20, 2021 at the Wellington Health and Rehab. She was born April 7, 1936 to Roman and Alice (Tenbarge) Geubelle. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Norman, sister Jeanette Kenney, nephew David Kenney and Husband Don Favinger. She is survived by her sister Margaret Schultz, nieces Cindy (Tim) Mullen, Pam (Hugh) Ryono and nephews Brad (Barbara) Schultz and John Kenney.

She worked in the ASCS offices for many years and at Oxwell manufacturing, but her true love was the land. She took over the work load of the family farm after the passing of her father. She did it all, from working on tractors to planting and harvesting. She always said the hotter the better and spent hours under the sun on the tractor, no air condition cab for this woman. This continued for her entire life until she left the home place in 2017.

Farming wasn't her only accomplishments. Her lovely soprano voice could be heard in the church choir and the choir that performed in Wichita during the Easter season. She also was an accomplished bowler and played many games at the local alley here in Wellington. She traveled with her team locally and nationally to participate in tournaments. Her bowling vest displays many pins for high point scores and 300 games.

She met Don later in life when he was part of the crew drilling an exploration oil well on the farm. They married on July 18, 1987 and spent many years farming and raising registered polled heifers. These were some well taken care of cattle. Family member can testify that holiday gatherings were cut short because the cows had to be taken care of. It was not all hard work as there was time for some fishing on the farm pond and running into town for a quick bite to eat. Cooking was not one of Ramona's favorite things to do.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Private family Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at St. Anthony St. Rose Catholic Church.   Father Hung Pham will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.

In honoring Ramona's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation.

A memorial has been established with the St. Anthony St. Rose Altar Society in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.

Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
