Richard Wayne DeYoe, Sr., age 76, of Blackwell, OK passed away at Northwest Specialty Hospital in Enid, OK on July 12, 2007. He was a resident of Blackwell moving there from Wellington in 1971. He was a retired foreman for Electron where he had worked for 20 years.
Richard Wayne DeYoe, Sr. was born in Wellington, KS on February 10, 1931 to Elwood Garland DeYoe and Thelma Iris (Harrison) DeYoe. He was raised in Wellington and attended school here and was a WHS graduate with the Class of 1949.
He married Ruth Ilene Force on July 1, 1951. He then married Shirley Faylene May on March 16, 1991 in Wellington, KS. She preceded him in death on April 30, 2001.
He enjoyed wood crafts, upholstery work, and watching baseball and football.
Survivors include his fiancee, Peggy Oliver of Wichita, KS; one son, Rick DeYoe and his wife Linda of Oklahoma City, OK; three daughters, Janet Epperly and her husband Roger of Derby, KS, Celia Cullin and her husband John of Ponca City, OK, and Kris Vickery and her husband Robert of Fort Worth, TX; one brother, Pierre DeYoe of Pratt, KS; one sister, Edith Diffendal of El Dorado, KS; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at Frank Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Keith Koch of Grace Presbyterian Church in Wichita, KS officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens in Wellington, KS.
Visitation will be held at Frank Funeral Home on Sunday evening, July 15, 2007 from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. and on Monday, July 16, 2007 from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M.
