Robert Joe Booe, age 69, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at his home early Friday morning, June 11, 2010.

Robert Joe Booe was born on March 19, 1941 in Winfield, KS to George Simpson Booe and Mary Belle (Naw) Booe. He was a graduate of Winfield High School.

Bob married Donna Smith on June 23, 1962 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Winfield, KS.

Bob began his job at Dillons in Winfield at the age of 18. He transferred to the Wellington Dillons store in March of 1963 and worked in all three locations of the Dillons store in Wellington. While working for Dillons, Bob took a correspondence course in TV repair. He quit Dillons and went to work for Ron's TV and Appliance Store. When this business was sold he went to work for Ed Schrag at Schrag TV and Appliance where he worked for 10 years. When Mr. Schrag retired, Bob then returned to Dillons. He continued to work there until he retired 1997 due to health problems.

Bob's hobby of ham radio operator since the 1970's had given him many years of enjoyment. Through the years he made contacts with nearly every state and participated in many special event weekends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kristal Booe Aubert McCord in 1990; and grandson, Justin Wade Aubert.

Survivors include his wife, Donna of Wellington; sister, Pat Sutton and her husband Earl of Safford, AZ and brother, Jimmie Booe and his wife Shirley of Winfield, KS; and two grandchildren, Scott McCord of Ashland, OH and Tracy McCord of Ft. Knox, KY.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at St. Anthony's/St. Rose Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. Father Andrew Heiman will officiate.

Memorials have been established with the Wellington Humane Society and the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
