Robert "Bob" Eugene Dickson, age 92, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at his home in Wellington, KS. Bob worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 25 years and also as Chief Engineer for St. Lukes Hospital for 25 years.
Bob was born on December 27, 1927 in rural Anson, KS to Jess Albert Dickson and Edna Lucile (Fado) Dickson. He served in the United States Navy from April of 1946 to January of 1948.
Bob married Wanda G. Kimple on March 17, 1950 at the Methodist Church Parsonage in Wellington. She preceded him in death in August of 2006.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and woodworking. He also enjoyed his friends and his card playing days of "Pitch". He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Wellington American Legion Post #90, Wellington V.F.W. Post #881, and the Wellington Masonic Lodge #150 A.F.&A.M.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wanda; brother, Melvin Dickson; and son-in-law, Mike Loomer.
Survivors include his children, Jerry Dickson of Wichita, KS and Michelle Loomer of Fergus Falls, MN; three grandchildren, Crystal and Nick, Melissa and Alex, and Eric and Lyssa; four great grandchildren, Makiya, Takeo, Kyan, and Jackson; companion, Lora Fleming; and nephew, David Kimple.
Graveside Services with military honors will be held on August 10, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Prairie Lawn Cemetery. Chaplain Chase Hill will officiate.
Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, August 3, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
Memorials have been established with the First United Methodist Church or the Wellington Senior Center in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
