Robert Leroy Lynch, age 83, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away January 17, 2009 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington, KS. He was a retired farmer.
Robert Leroy Lynch was born on December 24, 1925 in Wakita, OK to Harry McLain and Doris Ursula (Cattenburg) Lynch.
He served in the United States Navy during WWII as a torpedo mate. He was a member of the VFW and enjoyed the Methodist Church. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, the outdoors, farming and going out to eat.
He married Rosetta Lola Fiene on July 5, 1952 in Wellington, KS.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edgar and Kenneth Lynch and sister Mary Slaughter.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years Rosetta Lynch of South Haven, KS; son Mark Lynch and his special companion Sheryl Carroll of South Haven, KS; two daughters, Sharon Struble and her husband Clint of Wellington, KS and Betty Charles and her husband Brian of Salina, KS; three grandchildren, Alyssa Struble, Josh Struble and his wife Angie, and Christa Settle and her husband Chipper; two great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 20, at 2:00 P.M. at Frank Funeral Home in Wellington, KS. Pastor Darren Williams will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery in South Haven, KS.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 19, 2009 from 1:00 – 9:00 P.M.
