Obituary

Robert John Wohlschlegel (Bob) was born in Harper County, Kansas on September 19, 1930 at his home.  His parents were Benjamin and Mary Evelyn (Hooper) Wohlschlegel.  He was raised with sisters, Irene, Edith, Joy, Mary Jane, Alice, and Nancy and brothers, William David (Dub) and Dale. At about three years old they moved to Scott City where he attended grade school and part of High School.  He lived on a farm during the dust bowl years.  In 1946, the family moved back to Harper.  He loved to play tennis and was a huge fan of watching any kind of ballgames, his favorites being the KU Jayhawks, New York Yankees and K ansas City Chiefs.

He was married to Kay Holt in Harper and had a son, Justin and daughter, Faith.  Bob and Kay were married 11 years.  Bob was a farmer at heart and always remembered the number of hay bales he would move, what fields he worked, and who he worked for.  He worked as a County Commissioner for Harper County for many years and was President of Center Industries in Wichita, Kansas.

Bob was single for 26 years before Joan Myers.  Bob was a very caring man who would hug anyone he saw.  Bob and Joan were married 23 years.  He left this world to be with Jesus on July 21, 2022.

Those left to mourn are his wife, Joan; son, Justin Wohlschlegel and his wife Valerie; and 20 grandchildren including, Tressa, Shaila, Zak, and Grace; sister, Nancy; brother, Dale; five great grandchildren; and step-children, Vonnie, Greg, Cindy, Sherri, Pam and Vince.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Faith; five sisters; and one brother.
