Roberta E. Moreland, age 82, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Wednesday evening, November 5, 2014 at Golden Living Center in Wellington, KS. Roberta was a resident of Belle Plaine, KS most of her adult life. She was the former co-owner of the Family Food Center in Belle Plaine.

Roberta E. (Lemon) Moreland was born on December 22, 1931 in Barney, Iowa to Bert L. Lemon and Emma L. (Kiple) Lemon.

Roberta married Dale L. Moreland on January 6, 1950 in Anthony, KS. He preceded her in death in May of 2000.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale; daughter, Dalene Moreland; brother, Ray Lemon; and sisters, Hazel Phillips and Dora Gardner.

Survivors include her two children, Lane Moreland and his wife Ann of Belle Plaine, KS and Lynn Jenkins and her husband Robert of Wellington; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Carey, Amy, Courtney, Robby, and Tyler; and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at the First Christian Church in Wellington on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. Pastor Don Bryant will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Belle Plaine Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, November 7, 2014 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 7:00 P.M.

Memorials have been established with the First Christian Church and Rivercross Hospice. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
