Roberta Evelyn Palmer, age 85, long time Wellington resident, passed away on October 9, 2010 at her home in Wellington, KS. She was a retired secretary having worked at St. Lukes Hospital for many years.

Roberta Evelyn Palmer was born on April 3, 1925 in Wichita, KS to Royal Horace Palmer, Sr. and Etta Ruth (Harvey) Palmer. She was a graduate of Wellington High School with the Class of 1944.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Roy H. Palmer, Jr. and Raymond V. Palmer; and nephew, Malcom T. Palmer.

Survivors include her three sisters, Henrietta R. Palmer Reheard, Viola R. Palmer Patterson, of Wellington, KS and Violet R. Palmer Rowan Oxford, KS; sister-in-law, Evelyn Feist Palmer of Wichita, KS; nieces, Carolyn Palmer Bradfield, Crystal Reheard Charles, Linda M. Palmer Richardson, Kim K. Reheard Sundry, and Melinda Rowan Evans; nephews, Ronald Palmer, Michael B. Patterson, Ricky L. Rowan, A. Dwight Rowan, Gregory Palmer, and Timothy Palmer; 25 great nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Prairie Lawn Cemetery. Pastor Don Bryant will officiate.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with the Wellington Humane Society. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
