Rose Irene Goodrum, age 65, loving wife, mother, and Mema passed away at her home on Sunday evening, March 22, 2009. She was co-owner of Emergency Fire Equipment in Mayfield, KS.

Rose Irene (McEachern) Goodrum was born on November 15, 1943 in Wellington, KS to Leo Neil McEachern and Dorothy M. (Higgins) McEachern. She was raised in Wellington and attended schools here and graduated with the WHS Class of 1961.

Rose married Richard L. "Dick" Goodrum on December 29, 1961 in Mayfield, KS. They had recently celebrated 47 years of marriage.

She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, and was an avid fan of KU Basketball.

She is preceded in death by her father, Leo McEachern; and two brothers, James and Michael McEachern.

Survivors include her husband Richard L. "Dick" Goodrum of Mayfield, KS; two sons, Rick Goodrum of Flower Mound, TX and Darin Goodrum and his wife Tracy of Wellington, KS; one daughter, Carri Miles of Cheney, KS; her mother Dorothy McEachern of Wellington; nine grandchildren, Michael Miles, Braden Miles, Tyler Miles, Kiley Goodrum, Christian Goodrum, Abby Goodrum, Erin Goodrum, Eric Goodrum, and Austin Goodrum.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the Mayfield Federated Church. Reverend John Mikow and Pastor Don Cross will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Osborne Cemetery at Mayfield, KS.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 from 1:00 – 9:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

Memorials have been established with the Mayfield Community Building Fund and the Mayfield Fire Department. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
