Savina H. Soria, 93, Wellington resident for most of her life, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 17, 2019 at her home. Savina worked as a nurse aide at Wellington Hospital for 23 years.

Savina was born on October 27, 1925 in Wellington, KS to Alberto P. Macias and Teodora (Bernal) Macias. She was the oldest of 13 children.

She married Manuel R. Soria on December 21, 1946 in Wellington, KS. Manuel preceded her in death on March 29, 2017.

Savina was an active member of the St. Rose Catholic Church and Parish Circle and the American Legion Auxiliary. She helped with Bingo at the Legion for many years. She enjoyed working at the Thrift Shop and was an excellent cook, wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Manuel; one great grandson, Michael Burden; three brothers, Ralph, Alberto, Jr., and Sebastian Macias; and two sisters, Phyllis Gonzales and Monica O'Neal.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph Soria and his wife Lynda and Nick Soria and his wife Dana both of Wellington; four daughters, Felisa Miner and her husband Mike of Aurora, MO, Marcia Burden and her husband Mark, Candy Soria, and Melissa Evans all of Wellington; three brothers, Vincent, Michael, and Alex Macias; four sisters, Judy Cuellar, Gabriella Yount, Margaret Gurule, and Rosemary Jaramillo; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

Rosary will be held at St. Anthony/St. Rose Catholic Church on Monday, April 22, 2019 at 7:00 P.M.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. Father Hung Pham will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 22, 2019 from 1:00 – 5:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Savina's name with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
