Seth Alan Mott, age 40, formerly of Wellington, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015 in Derby, KS.

Seth Alan Mott was born on May 9, 1974 in Wellington, KS to William E. Mott and Mary Ann (Edwards) Mott. He was raised in Wellington, KS and attended Wellington schools except for one year in Albuquerque, NM. He was a graduate of the Wellington High School Class of 1992. He was active in baseball, football, basketball and tennis. Seth was an avid fan of sports. He worked for UPS for the last 17 years.

Seth was an animal lover, took up guitar, and loved playing golf. He was a devoted son and friend. Friends will tell you he was that wild and crazy guy but he was sensitive and was always there for you and could bring a smile to your face.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Helen Freeman and John Forrest Edwards and L.H. (Bud) and Ethel Mott; and stepbrother, Jeff Bevan.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Hennig and stepfather, Phil of Wellington, KS and his father, William E. Mott of Wichita, KS; one brother, Bill Mott and his wife Amy; nephew, Will Mott and niece, Caroline Mott all of Wellington, KS; one stepbrother, Scott Hennig of Indianapolis, IN; one stepsister, Candace Bevan of Wichita, KS; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of dear friends.

Memorial Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. Reverend Brent Clayton will officiate.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. on Friday, March 6, 2015. The family will greet friends from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M.

Memorials have been established with the Wellington Humane Society and the Wellington Golf Club Trust Fund in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
