Sharon Estelle Corter, 56, of Wellington, passed away January 17, 2018. Sharon was born on November 13, 1961 to James and Jeannette Whitehead in Portsmouth, Virginia

In 1972 she moved to Kansas with her family. After finishing school Sharon attended nursing school and graduated as an LPN. She worked in several hospitals, nursing homes and home health care.

Sharon was baptized July 18, 1975 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She married Kerry W.E. Corter on December 5, 1981. They have two sons, Justin and Jeremy. Sharon also did foster care for a number of kids.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ethel Brown and James Whitehead, Sr.; Augusta and Benton Ball; sister & brother in law, Laura and Terry Love; and husband Kerry W.E. Corter.

Sharon is survived by her parents, Jeannette and James Whitehead of Wellington; sister, Donna and Joe Williams of Wellington; brother, James Whitehead, II of Wichita; children, Justin and Jeremy Corter of Wellington; Joe Wolf and Chauntelle of Wichita; Andy Watson of Winfield; grandchildren, Nicole Corter of Wellington, Brendin and Preslie Corter, Paige, Katelyn, and James Corter of El Dorado, Juan, Aaron, Emily and Mason Wolf of Wichita; and many nieces, nephews and family in Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina.

There will be no visitation. Cremation has been affected. Family will greet friends January 26, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at 1301 E. Harvey Ave., Wellington, KS.

Services for Sharon will be held January 27, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Wellington, KS. Everett Reedy will officiate.

Sharon's family would like to thank Dr. Steven Scheufler, Botkin Rehab and Rivercross Hospice in Winfield and Frank Funeral Home.

A memorial has been established with the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at the funeral home
