Obituary

Sharon Kay Shore, of Wellington, Kansas passed away on Monday, January 8th, 2024.
Sharon was born the daughter of Maurice and Geneva (Brandon) Starkey on February 27th,
1944, in Wellington, Kansas.
Sharon grew up in Wellington, Kansas, and attended Wellington schools until marrying Ronald I.
Shore on June 5th, 1960. Together, they had three children. Sharon stayed busy raising her
children and was a proud farm-wife. One of her favorite responsibilities on the farm was making
meals and taking them out to the field at harvest. Sharon still managed to pursue a lifelong
passion for doing hair and makeup by attending cosmetology school and becoming a beautician
- a trade she continued for many years.
Sharon was a loving and warm presence to all who knew her. She was a natural caregiver who
thoroughly enjoyed taking care of and spending time with her family. She could often be found in
the kitchen preparing some of her family's favorite dishes - typically without having to follow a
recipe. Sharon enjoyed all things nature - fishing, camping, tending to her garden and plants,
and even just sitting on her porch in the evenings with her dog, Lolly, while sipping a glass of
wine or iced tea. Sharon loved an occasional trip to the casino. She was fond of crafting and
would frequent craft fairs with her creations. She had a huge heart for all animals - never had a
home without a pet. This is a trait that she passed down to her kin. To know Sharon was to love
Sharon, her kind heart will be remembered by all.
Survivors include her sons, Randy Shore and wife Chris of Pueblo, Colorado, Kevin Shore and
wife Sharon of Mayfield, Kansas; daughter: Rhonda Shore of Wichita, Kansas; Grandchildren:
Brandon (Tiffany) Shore, Colter (Emily) Shore, Keaton Shore, Kami (Andrew) Mattson, Cajen
(Connor) Phelps; Great-grandchildren: Dominic (Cheyenne) Shore, Skylie Shore, Zylie Shore,
