Sharon Ann Stocking, age 78, Wellington resident for over 60 years, passed away early Friday afternoon, February 7, 2020 at the Sumner Community Hospital in Wellington. Sharon had worked as a Para at Eisenhower School for 29 years.

Sharon Ann (Watson) Stocking was born on September 21, 1941 in Topeka, KS to Harlow W. Watson and Mary Ellen (Wilkinson) Watson.

Sharon married Philip N. Koerner on June 19, 1961 in Newkirk, OK. He passed away in 1970. She then married Gary N. Stocking on October 27, 1977 in Wellington. He passed away in 2001.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, birds, and traveling, especially to Colorado with Gary, and participating in car shows. She was adventurous as she liked to white water raft, drag racing (she had her own drag racing car), hot air ballooning, and riding in a NASCAR. Her motto was to "live life….dessert first."

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; and her sister, Sandra.

Survivors include her children, Kraig Koerner and Kendall Koerner and his wife Ashley both of Wellington and Kevin "Petey" Koerner of Winfield; step-daughter, Lisa Baird and her husband Rob of Wellington; brother, H. W. "Bud" Watson, Jr. and his wife Sandra of Lawrence, KS; grandchildren, Drake, Kolten, Rayce, Alyra, Lukas, and Gavin; and step-granddaughter, Bliss Baird.

Funeral Services will be held at the First Christian Church on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. Pastor James Byers and Pastor Sallie Shore will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with the First Christian Church in lieu of flowers.   Contributions can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
