Shirley Jean Craig, age 87, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away Friday morning, July 11, 2014 at Cherished Friends in Wellington, KS. Shirley and her husband, Bob, owned and operated the KOA camp ground for many years.

Shirley Jean (Bedwell) Craig was born on August 22, 1926 in Wellington, KS to Clark W. Bedwell and Nellie E. (Hall) Bedwell.

Shirley married Bob Craig on September 28, 1947 in Wellington, KS. He preceded her in death on June 23, 2003.

Shirley was a very active member of the Church of Christ and was well known for her singing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; five brothers, Clifford, Floyd, Ernest, Virgil, and Lon Bedwell.

Survivors include her three children, Clifford Craig and his wife Judi of Shawnee, OK, Chris Craig and Jodi Weir of Wellington, and Donna Raschke of Wellington; grandchildren, Luke and Amanda Craig, Emily and Erika Raschke, Pete and Cassi Craig, Chris and Jessica Craig, Molly Craig, Maggie Redford, Gretchen Donaldson, and Spencer Zech; 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at the Church of Christ on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. Mr. Michael Nelson and Mr. Cliff Craig will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 14, 2014 from 1:00 – 8:00. The family will be present to greet friends from 7:00 – 8:00 P.M.

Memorials have been established with the Church of Christ and Cherished Friends. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
