Shirley Irene Schnug, age 82, of Riverdale, KS, passed away Friday morning, October 8, 2021 at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center.

Shirley Irene (Weakly) Schnug was born on March 1, 1939 in Howell County, MO to Ivan Leroy Weakly and Lavonda Elizabeth (Ballinger) Weakly.

She married James L. Schnug on September 29, 1956 at Blackwell, OK.  He preceded her in death on January 28, 2006.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James L. Schnug; son, Gary Schnug; daughter, Alice Schnug; great grandchild, Bradley Rumsey; and two brothers, Ronald and Raymond Weakly.

Survivors include her children, Richard Schnug of Riverdale, KS, David Schnug and his wife Jan of Haysville, KS, Linda Schnug of Riverdale, KS, Pat Schnug of Riverdale, KS, Beverly Schulte of Wichita, KS, daughter-in-law, Kendria Schnug of Elk City, KS; brothers, Leroy Weakly of Harper, KS, John Weakly and his wife Clarice of Cassville, MO, Kenneth Weakly and his wife Susan of Wichita, KS; sister, Sharon Weakly of Wichita, KS; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held at the Belle Plaine Cemetery on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 1:30 P.M.  Pastor Bob Nusser of the First Baptist Church will officiate.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 1:00 – 7:00 P.M.  The family will be present to greet friends from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M.

A Memorial has been established with the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center in lieu of flowers.  Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
