Obituary
Walter "Dean" McBride, age 90, passed away on November 27, 2007 at Spring View Manor in Conway Springs, KS as a result of complications from a stroke.
Walter Dean McBride was born on August 24, 1917 near Wellington, KS to Charles Victor "Vic" and Pearl (Corbin) McBride.
On May 17, 1941 he married Helen Louise Hoffman in Lyons, KS. They farmed and raised livestock near Anson and Mayfield for more than 50 years. Dean attended church in Mayfield and was also an active member in the Masonic Lodge.
Dean was the second of four children and was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen in 1999; sister, Pauline; and brother, Dale.
Survivors include his son, Alan McBride of Mayfield, KS; sister, Mary Tallman and her husband Chuck of Oxford, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at the Mayfield Federated Church on Friday, November 30, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. The Reverend John Mikow will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Austin Cemetery near Anson, KS.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 29, 2007 from 1:00 – 9:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established in his name with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Contributions can be left or mailed to Frank Funeral Home.
