Wendell David Ferguson, age 69, passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 24, 2010 at his home in Caldwell, KS. He was a retired welder and a Wellington resident for most of his life before retiring in Caldwell four years ago.
Wendell David Ferguson was born on September 2, 1940 in Nashville, AR to Ira I. Ferguson and Hettie A. (Bobo) Ferguson.
He married Mickey June Rose on January 11, 1959 at the First Christian Church in Wellington, KS.
He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Leon, Bobby, Jimmy, and Ivan Ferguson.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mickey Ferguson of Caldwell, KS; four children, David Ferguson and Larry Ferguson of Wellington, KS; adopted son, Alan Cox of Derby, KS, Debi Weir of Missouri and Joyce Clark of Caldwell, KS; two sisters, Linda Helton of Colorado and Irene Gossman of Wellington, KS; 22 Grandchildren; and 27 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at Frank Funeral Home. Chaplain Dan Floyd will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Osborne Cemetery in Mayfield, KS.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 26, 2010 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with Hospice Care of Kansas in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
