Willard Leroy Webster, age 81, of Caldwell, KS, longtime resident of Corbin, KS, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016 at his home. Willard was the owner of the Day & Night Food Market located on North "C" Street in Wellington. He was also an employee of many grocery stores in Wellington and he also was an employee of Sunflower Mobile Homes in Wellington.
Willard was born on September 16, 1934 in Wellington, KS to Jay D. Webster and Mabel C. (Stewart) Webster.
He married Pamela MauRie McKnight on July 28, 1955 in Wellington. They were the 1955 Wheat Festival wedding couple.
Willard loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. The great grandchildren called him "Hot Dog." He loved fishing, gardening, and finding treasures with his metal detector.
He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, J. D. Webster, Jr., Clifford Webster, Clarence Webster, and Joseph Webster; one sister, Shirley (Webster) Heasty; two son-in-laws, Rick Jackson and Kevin Winter.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Pamela Webster of Caldwell, KS; three sons, Tim Webster and his wife Jennie of Caldwell, KS, Jay Webster and his wife Deb of Caldwell, KS, and Randy Webster of Mulvane, KS; three daughters, Debbi Cay Winter of Caldwell, KS, Dana Johnson and her husband Patrick of Hollister, MO, and Dianna Calvin and her husband Tom of Winfield, KS; one brother, Calvin Webster and his wife Norma of Fredricksburg, TX; 17 grandchildren; many step grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and many many step great grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be held at Sumner Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Max Davis will officiate.
There will be visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. In honoring Willard's wishes, the casket will remain closed.
Memorials have been established with Rivercross Hospice and the Corbin Ball Association. Contributions can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
