William Henry "Bill" Busch, age 91, lifelong Milan resident, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2012 at the Sumner Care Center in Wellington, KS. "Bill" was a farmer and stockman.

William Henry Busch was born on October 16, 1920 in Milan, KS to Henry L. and Victoria F. (Hembrow) Busch.

He proudly served in the 389th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1942-1946 in the Pacific Theater.

He was united in marriage to Hazel L. McAfee on April 15, 1947 in Wichita, KS. They recently celebrated 65 years of marriage.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, farming and was an avid outdoorsman.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert; two sisters, Anita Mae Busch and Betty Jo Weber; and one granddaughter, Elizabeth.

Survivors include his loving wife, Hazel of Milan, KS; two sons, Jim Busch and his wife Ruth, of Milan, KS, and Bill Busch of Kansas City, MO; two daughters, Judi Shirley and her husband Tom of Alva, OK, and Linda Erb and her husband Bill of Valley Center, KS; five grandchildren, Zak, Chris, Thresia, Mark, and Emily.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the Mayfield Federated Church in Mayfield, KS. Pastor Frank DeFisher and Chaplain Dan Floyd will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Cemetery in Wellington, KS.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, August 12, 2012 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Hospice Care of Kansas and Wounded Warriors. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
