Wilma L. Tryon, age 96, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away Saturday evening, September 21, 2019 at Wheatlands Health Care Center in Kingman, KS.

Wilma L. (Hutchison) Tryon was born on August 2, 1923 in Wellington, KS to Charles Craig Hutchison and Hazel Faye (Knox) Hutchison. She was raised in South Haven, KS and lived most of her adult life in Wellington.

Wilma married Edwin L. Tryon on October 19, 1947 in South Haven, KS. He preceded her in death on March 1, 2002.

Wilma worked as a payroll clerk for the R.E.A. for many years. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, cooking, canning, traveling, and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Wellington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin; one brother, Harlan Hutchison; and two sisters, Arlene Keith and Nina Wilson.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Watkins and her husband Curt of Kingman, KS; two grandchildren, Jeff Watkins and his wife Beth of Assaria, KS and Andy Watkins and his wife Jayme of Derby, KS; seven great grandchildren, Evan, Josh, Sam, Aubri, Easton, Blayke, and Harrison.

Funeral Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Wellington on Friday, September 27, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. Pastor Andy Hargrove will officiate.

Interment will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens in Wellington.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M.

Memorials have been established with the First United Methodist Church or Wheatlands Health Care Center. Contributions can be mailed to or left at the funeral home.
