Wilma Berniece Wilkerson, age 82, passed away February 14, 2009 at Cliffview At Riverside Rehab & Nursing Center in Riverside, MO. She was a retired stenographer and clerk for the Santa Fe Railroad from 1952 – 1986.
Wilma Berniece (Morrison) Wilkerson was born on March 21, 1926 in Isabel, KS to Robert Adolph and Metta Berniece (Blankenship) Morrison.
She married Wilbur L. Wilkerson on October 10, 1948 in Wellington, KS. He preceded her in death on February 20, 1996.
Wilma was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, and the First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilbur; daughter, Marsha; son, Gary; five brothers, Dale, Vern, Ralph, Ray, and Bob Morrison; and one sister, Shirley Albright.
Survivors include two sons, Terry Wilkerson and his wife Peggy of Kansas City, MO, and Jerry Wilkerson and his wife Yolanda of Wellington, KS; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Wilkerson of Severy, KS, brothers, Dave Morrison of Brighton, CO and Jim Morrison of Pretty Prairie, KS; one sister, Geneva Poe of Milton, KS; six grandchildren; Matthew Wilkerson of Chicago, IL, Marcus Wilkerson and Glen Cunningham of Wichita, KS, Carrie Wilkerson and Andrew Wilkerson both of Kansas City, MO, Jeremy Wilkerson of Ogden, KS and Metta Wilkerson of Burlington, WI; one great grandchild, Morgan Wilkerson-Vogt of Emporia, KS.
Funeral Services will be held at Frank Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. Pastor James Newman will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Osborne Cemetery in Mayfield, KS.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 from 1:00 – 9:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
